I've had this laptop now for a little over a month. I'm pleased with it. The screen is very bright, shows rich color. The webcam is as good as any other I've owned, it's a nice extra feature. The keys above the standard qwerty keyboard - for email, wireless, internet etc... I haven't taken the time to program. Usually I won't use the extra features like that anyway. The Keyboard leaves something to be desired. When a double letter is typed in a word, like the t's in "letter", more often than not the second letter doesn't register. I've learned to live with it, if you're planning on using this to write or type extensively, either consider an external keyboard or another machine. It's annoying. The touchpad works just as well as any I've used. Standard Stuff here. The DVD Burner works just fine, The NTI software that comes with it works better than I expected. The Card Reader is a nice feature. I never cared about having a card reader until I got this laptop! One cool thing about the card reader with Windows Vista: if you want to speed things up, grab a high-speed SD card and leave it in there. Windows Vista has a feature that will use it as RAM. When you consider the Dual Core Turion processor, A Gig of RAM, Built in Webcam, DVD burner, Bluetooth, and infared that this offers, It's a Deal when you consider that I got it on Sale for $499.

ITs a very good laptop that i never seen such a inexpensive yet nicely matched configuration. the size compared to other competitive brands is very thin and slim. battery last long and good deal for those who go for acer.

Since the only Ferrari I can afford is the one produced by Acer, I made myself a nice present for my birthday. The machine did a great job at the tests, specially in gamimg. I'm very pleased with what it can offer, too bad it doesn't torque like a Ferrari, but we didn't need that on a laptop, do we? :)

This notebook looks like a Ferrari! Its got a Carbon fiber lid so it is lighter but still strong. The screen is A shiny 15.4 inch lcd that supports a 1680 x 1050! Thats Intense! The view is very good when indoors, but when outdoors you might get a little glare as the screen is shiny. with 2GHz, 512KB L2 per core Turion X2 TL-60 and Also the hottest mobile processor from AMD, 35W, you cant go wrong! It runs very quiet, and is equipped with 2GB of 667MHz DDR 2 memory configured in dual-channel mode. It comes equipped with ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 256MB dedicated graphics memory.and 256MB of system memory which you can add to that at anytime. This pc is great for games, media, music and more! A GREAT BUY!
Worth the money!

I bought this laptop about 3 months ago, and there is nothing i can say wrong about this laptop. It starts fast and I love Acer and their tech support. The only thing i do not like on the acer laptop is the sound quality for games and music. if you are going to play music or games get speakers that will plug into the side and there you go, your laptop is ready for you. The only thing i would do when next time buying a laptop is to get a bigger screen, but hey the price was right.
fine notebook

Acer Aspire is great for getting your programs on the run, or for playing games in the park while you are waiting for someone. The increased disk capacity and the 1.6 GHz processor makes it the best for gaming, since you can run almost every game you need. Let's face it, in every one of use lies a kid who just wants to play. For a business man, this is just the perfect solution. My uncle owns one and he uses it for the bluetooth gps system he has. I am happy with it. Easy to navigate within programs, it moves very quick.

I bought this laptop because i needed something for school. It turned out to work better for me then i realized at the time of purchase. So far I have not had a single problem with anything. The battery life is great. Doesn't hose up on large applications. This is really ready to go out of the box. Overall i give it 9 out of 10

My uncle bought the Acer Aspire 5630 last month and as he knows i have a high knowledge he told me to come review it and see if it was worth him buying. I made general tests of the notebook. Running big programs like photoshop and limewire at the same time to see the performance and how it responded. It impressed me alot, the proccessor was fast and for 512 MB Ram it caught my attention that it was very worth it for the price he bought. I was quite amazed. If you're looking for a cheap home based area enviromental laptop for entertainment, i would highlt recommend this laptop.

I have the 5633 and whilst I was getting rid of some of the bloat yesterday and installing the software that I wanted on the laptop (I had the highest settings for cpu etc... whilst doing this) it stayed fairly cool throughout. This was over a period of about 1hour 30mins.

I'm pretty happy with this laptop. It's well designed, light, has an attractive screen, 4 USB ports. The built-in web cam is a really nice touch. It's pretty fast, although I'm not a power user. It does seem to take its sweet time booting up (probably because I have Spy Sweeper on it.. what a resource hog!). Ample hard drive space (120 GB), 1GB RAM.

Pleased with the machine. Easy to use right out of the box. Seems slow to boot up, but maybe there are apps buried somewhere that I haven't found that could be removed from start up. Screen is nice and bright, clear and sharp. The memory card slot for camera cards is quite handy, a nice feature, worth having on a laptop. No IEEE 1394 port, but the 4 USBs are good to have. DVD drive somewhat noisy. Good sized hard drive, 120 GB, but splitting it 50/50 as C: and D: makes for too large a C drive and not much space for data on the D partition. It has 2 GB of Ram, so apps work and boot up quite quickly, especially video software. Battery life a bit short, but charges up very quickly, even while using AC power. The built in energy usage and monitor/settings software is a good feature. All and all a nicely designed and functional machine. Would certainly buy another.
