Review:

First off, I'm no techie...I'm just an average user who was looking to upgrade my laptop. I just bought a digital SLR camera and wanted a machine that could handle all the post-processing that needs to be done. My on-line research had narrowed me down to the Lenovo Thinkpad T61p or a Dell Latitude D830. Off I went to a bricks and mortar store.

I went to two different PCCyber stores in Ottawa. Both times, when I mentioned what I was looking for they suggested the Asus G1S. Both times they used the word "solid" to describe the machine. I was sold.

The machine is slick and looks great. It's super fast (at least a lot faster than my 4-year-old Dell Inspiron). And the lit-up green "eye" that sits below the keyboard is super-cool. Seriously, though, this is a "guy's" machine on the outside. But on the inside it's for the multi-tasking power user.

It's only been a week, but I'm in love with my new machine (especially since I learned how to turn of the other flashing green lights on the sides of the monitor).
