This is the Best Laptop Bargain-Dell Inspiron 1420 Processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7300 (2.0Hz/800Mhz FSB/2MB cache) Memory: 2048MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM Screen: Anti-glare, widescreen 14.1 inch display (1280x800) Pros --It's a fast machine (I upgraded to the 2.2GHz, 800Mhz 4M L2 Cache). I like the color (jet black vs. the standard Dell silver). The anti-glare widescreen is nice -- great workspace for the desktop. I like the footprint of the smaller (14.1) display; I don't think I would've liked the 15.4". LOTS of HDD, it's awesome. As much as I hate to say it, I don't mind Vista so much -- network setup (wired/wireless) is even easier than it is in XP (if you can believe it), and the GUI is pretty slick, although I find it comical that Dell partnered with Google and the Google desktop is standard. LOVE the media card slot -- makes image transfer ridiculously easy. Setup (when I turned the PC on for the 1st time) was a piece of cake -- Dell really makes it easy to get started on a new machine. ConsMS Works is just plain awful -- don't install it when you get it. Spend the money and buy MS Office; it'll be worth it in the long run. The Google desktop is slick, but, I had to spend too much time "removing it", and would've preferred to have it set as an option to activate when I started up the machine. I bought the Dell Photo AIO Printer 926 -- I'll write another review, but, great price, footprint is WAY too big. As far as the machine itself, I have no real "cons" to write....I really like this laptop.
