this laptop is way too big and bulky. it is good for your first laptop, but it is not a very good laptop for games (it is very slow even for a laptop) it is ok for storage though. i use it for small games and photo's

I have the 1505. Overall pretty good. I've had it about 6 months now. One complaint is all the "crap" software they put on HD. Screen is very nice, 7200RPM HD and 2GB RAM helps too. Would I consider another Dell? Yes....!

The first thing thing that anyone would think about when buying a Laptop is Durability and Quality. Looking at those aspects with a Low budget i think the best option is a Inspiron 1501. It comes with a power packed AMD Turion X2 processor, although the same is not configurable on the website of DELL, on calling the customer care they give you options of going up to a TL-56 processor(1.8Ghz, 1MB Cache,533Mhz FSB) which is really blazing fast as compared to any of the Intel Platforms that i have worked on till date. It also comes with a integrated 256MB ATI Radeon Graphics Card (ATI as well all known has now merged with AMD) thereby coming up with fabulous graphics at a very high FPS. The major drawbacks of this model are that it doesnt come with DELL MediaDirect and Integrated Bluetooth option which i think DELL would have to give a serious rethink about following the widespread popularity of AMD Based Laptops abroad. Atleast for the Bluetooth one could surely think about a Handy Bluetooth Dongle which nowadays is inexpensive. All in all, if you are looking at power packed performance I think one must seriously consider this model.

I personally really like this laptop (15.4") Runs smooth, and it's not bad to look at either. There was some preinstalled software though, not too thrilled about that, but I like it
Great Standard Labtop

The hard drive space is ok, not good or bad at 60 GB. It is kind of hard to open sometimes and its not that light. The screen is a good size to view the internet on. The sound speakers are standard as any other labtop. The 1501 is very nice in keeping the labtop cool. I have never had mine that hot when Im busy working on it. The graphics card isen't bad at all either for a labtop. I would recommend getting the 1505 which cost a little bit more but it will give you more ram and in my opinion a little faster.
