Review:
The Gateway MT6459 is a powerful laptop, providing power and compactness for an excellent price. They use the smae case as the NX-570 series, so they can use the batteries and RAM designed for the NX-570 They are availalbe for a very low price, (I got mine for $500) but they pack a punch with 1GB of dual-channel DDR2 memory, and an AMD Turion TL-50 dual core CPU. One disadvantage may be that Windows Vista uses a ton of the RAM, investing in 2GB would be prudent. It comes bundled with a lot of sofware, which slows down the computer if not quickly removed or disabled. The firewall is zealous, requiring you to give just about any program permission to run for the first time, but very effective in keeping the computer clean of adware, and most virus's. The battery will last about 1 1/2 hours on a full charge, on maximum performance settings, on power saving, it lasts longer, but the speed is notciably slower. A big plus is the easy-to-use wireless card, integrated, which has impressive range, and speed. If the settings are changed, it can be made to work with bluetooth devices. The graphics are stunning, for a laptop, alhtough it will not fare well on heavy gaming. In short, the MT6459 is a great laptop at a great price.
